A few words on safety

SportsPassion is a place where you can interact with your sports team in a safe and fun environment.

We have safety features in place which allow you to control your private information. You can choose to share your information with everyone, or with just the people in your network.

Even so, please keep in mind that SportsPassion is a public space with many people you dont know who have access to you and any information you publicly post.

There are certain guidelines that you should follow to help you and your teammates have a safe and enjoyable experience on SportsPassion:

  1. Do not share personal information, such as your full first and last name, phone number, location, email or IM address, city or state, on blogs, notice boards, forums, groups or any type of posts. Once you post this information publicly, its out there and available for anyone to see.
  2. Do not reveal personal information about yourself, your friends or other people, except to people you know.
  3. Dont respond to anyone or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. If you see or receive any harassing, threatening, hostile or inappropriate posts, report it to us immediately.
  4. Its great to make new friends on SportsPassion, but do not agree to meet with anyone you dont really know in person without: 1. bringing another person with you; 2. arranging to meet in a public place, or; 3. if you are a minor, notifying an adult of your plans.
  5. Think before you post! Dont upload any embarrassing photos or post any stories that you wouldnt want your friends or parents or strangers to see.
  6. Talk to your parents, if you are a minor, about their expectations and understanding of how to use the Internet and SportsPassion. It can be as helpful to them as it is to you.

Parental Tips

SportsPassion is popular with children and teenagers because it allows them to freely express themselves as well interact with friends online. As a parent we encourage you to talk with your children about making safe decisions with respect to how they interact online.

We have required a parent or guardian to agree to SportsPassion registrations for any person under 13 years of age. We ask that you monitor your child/charges activities online and let us know right away if you have any issues or questions about what see on the SportsPassion site.

Here are a few helpful guidelines:
  • Talk to your kids to find out what they do online and about the sites they visit. Take the initiative and learn about the sites they frequent most.
  • Set reasonable guidelines so your kids know what they can and cant do online.
  • Encourage your kids to come to you if they encounter a problem online. You, or they, can report any problems or inappropriate behaviour to SportsPassion at feedback@sportspassion.com.
  • Remind your kids that the Internet is a public place and that they should be careful about posting: 1. anything that might embarrass if seen by adults or others, or 2. personal information that they wouldnt want the world to know such as email or IM addresses, telephone numbers, street addresses, etc.
  • While making new friends online can be a good thing, warn your children that not everyone online tells the truth and to be cautious.
  • Most importantly, ask your kids to tell you if they want to meet a new online friend in person. If you think its safe, help them arrange the meeting in a public place and make sure they are accompanied by an adult or guardian.

SportsPassion Guidelines and Rules

SportsPassion is place for you to create, connect and interact. We strive to create a friendly, safe and authentic environment for you to express yourself freely and frequently. If your goal is to be disruptive, abusive or inappropriate, this is not the right site for you.

The guidelines below will help ensure that you, and other members, have an enjoyable and safe experience on SportsPassion:

  1. Respect everyone. Do not insult, abuse or harass other members. You dont have to agree with them, but if you do have a disagreement, be respectful as you would want someone to be to you. Attacks on other SportsPassion members are not allowed and may result in the removal of your account.
  2. Do the right thing. Do not post, or provide links to any sites that display pornographic, violent or hateful materials or images.
  3. Be who you are. Dont lie about your age or misrepresent yourself to other members or impersonate a SportsPassion employee, a SportsPassion member or any other person.
  4. Keep it clean. Do not post any material that is in breach of SportsPassions Terms of Use or other policies including but not limited to material that is sexual in any manner, obscene or vulgar.
    • Members may not use SportsPassion for commercial purposes. Do not post advertisements, commercial messages, photos or solicitations for any products or services.

We do monitor SportsPassion, but we cannot discover everything that occurs everywhere on the site. Please help us keep SportsPassion safe by reporting any inappropriate conduct.

Members who violate these Guidelines and Rules or the SportsPassion Terms of Use Policy may be removed from SportsPassion without notice.
